The Wolsey District, consists of 14 Scout groups and 3 Explorer units, named after the famous Cardinal Wolsey, whose bronze statue is situated in the Town of Ipswich Town, covers the Central and Western side of Ipswich and the surrounding areas; including, Shotley, Capel St Mary, Holbrook, East Bergholt, Claydon, Bramford and everywhere in between.
The scouting movement has recently been through a re-brand. The #SkillsForLife campaign accurately captures the ethos of modern Scouting.

The has been running since the th , providing life skills and activities to young people in Ipswich for .
We originally started out at St. Matthews in Ipswich, where we were based until the move to our current site in 1956.
The building (HQ) we now meet in was constructed in 1989, and was designed to last 50+ years, with on-going building up-grades we comply with current legislation, therefore allowing everyone to enjoy the building. The wooden block flooring was re-purposed from The Cavendish Hotel (Felixstowe c.1987) and inclusion of Solar Panels & Storage Batteries enables the group to keep running costs to a minimum whilst remaining eco-friendly.
